Could Reticulum Power a Post-Internet Network?

In a recent demonstration, The Tech Prepper showed how to run Reticulum over high-frequency radio using a Mercury HF modem and open-source software on Ubuntu. There's a catch: encryption is banned on amateur radio bands in most places, so the demo cleverly uses a dummy load instead of an antenna to avoid FCC scrutiny while still showing the concept. The appeal is clear — a fully offline network for disaster scenarios, or simply an alternative to the modern internet. Alternative platforms like modem73 can even run unencrypted bulletin board systems, reviving a piece of early internet infrastructure.
