War in Iran expands as third US soldier killed since end of ceasefire

A third American soldier has been killed since the end of a ceasefire, France 24 reports, this time in Iraq. US Central Command said the death came during what it described as a controlled detonation of a downed Iranian drone. That brings the total number of US soldiers killed in the fighting to seventeen. The deaths come as the war in Iran widens following the collapse of a sixty-day ceasefire in early July.
