FDA says review of Taylor Farms lettuce shows cyclospora finding was false positive

The Guardian is reporting that a cyclospora parasite outbreak has sickened thousands of people across the United States. On Saturday, the FDA announced that laboratory tests found the parasite in shredded iceberg lettuce from Taylor Farms. But the agency reversed course on Sunday: experts re-examined the sample and determined the positive result was a false positive. Taylor Farms was informed of the mistake. As of Sunday, there were no confirmed positive sample results for cyclospora.
