An ASUS Eee PC netbook from 2009 seemed ready for the recycling bin — until someone figured out how to bring it back. Adafruit Blog details how Simon Park resurrected the machine by installing Arch Linux. The netbook's Intel Atom processor and one gigabyte of RAM had always been a limitation, but the lightweight operating system proved to be the perfect fit. Park is now using it as a dedicated server or media player — a second life for hardware that would've otherwise collected dust.
