A DIY Media Center built for my blind uncle

tech

Michael Holz built a media center for his blind uncle centered on tactile control: two eleven-position rotary switches that click at each position, a toggle for Bluetooth or speaker output, and three push buttons to control audiobook playback—Fast Forward, Rewind, Start/Stop. The design puts physical feedback first, screens second. Per Adafruit Blog, Holz has fully documented the project on the Raspberry Pi Forums with a video—a reminder that sometimes the best accessible interface is one designed by someone who actually needs it.
