Iran says it is in ‘full-scale war’ as Trump vows retaliation over US soldier deaths

The Guardian reports that Iran's president has declared the country is in a "full-scale war" after the United States expanded its aerial campaign and Tehran retaliated by striking Washington's Gulf allies. Even so, diplomats say talks to de-escalate the crisis are still under way. According to the paper, Iranian media described strikes around Tabriz, believed to house underground missile bases, and near Bushehr, home to Iran's only operational civilian nuclear power plant. The US military said it had hit military command centres, air defence and coastal surveillance sites, maritime capabilities, missile and drone launch sites, and communications networks, while Iran's president warned the country may have to endure further strikes.
