Five people have died in the Scioto River in Ohio after several of them entered the water to help someone who was struggling to swim, The Guardian reports. Authorities said a motorist called 911 on Monday after spotting a frightened child from the group running along a nearby road. According to Delaware County Sheriff Jeffrey Balzer, rescue crews recovered two women, who were pronounced dead at a hospital, along with the bodies of three men.
