Senate committee advances nomination of Trump intelligence pick Jay Clayton

The Senate Intelligence Committee voted nine to eight on Tuesday to advance Jay Clayton's nomination for Director of National Intelligence, per The Guardian. Clayton, the top federal prosecutor in New York's Southern District, was nominated by President Trump last month after Tulsi Gabbard departed the role. Despite Democratic opposition, the committee moved the nomination forward.
