Boing Boing reports on a new analysis from DNS.pizza cataloguing over eighty-five thousand domains with verified registration dates, revealing the internet's oldest corners. DNS itself opened for business in nineteen eighty-five, with nordu.net—a Nordic research network—registering on January first that year. Symbolics.com is another survivor from that earliest cohort. It's a snapshot of how the web's infrastructure has endured through four decades of evolution.
