Fast-moving wildfire forces hundreds of evacuations in southern France

France 24 reports that a fast-moving wildfire tore through roughly one thousand seven hundred hectares in southern France in just a few hours on Tuesday, forcing hundreds of people to evacuate. Nearly one thousand firefighters, backed by dozens of aircraft, were deployed against the blaze. Authorities said the fire was still spreading quickly even as winds weakened, with extreme fire conditions in place across the region.
