Mamdani urges US government to arrest Netanyahu if Israeli PM visits US

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani is calling on the federal government to arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu if he sets foot in the United States. In a video posted to social media on Tuesday, Mamdani described Netanyahu as a war criminal and, in his words, the architect of a horrific genocide against the Palestinian people. The Guardian reports that Mamdani acknowledged he has no authority to make such an arrest himself, directing the demand instead at US federal authorities. The call is aimed at a possible Netanyahu visit to the United States later this year.
