Australia's Northern Territory has earmarked one hundred eighty-five hectares of rural land near Darwin for a proposed forty-billion-dollar data centre. ABC News reports the facility would be powered by natural gas from the Beetaloo Basin, requiring a pipeline from the basin and a dedicated gas-fired power station to supply the energy needed to operate it. The infrastructure project is being proposed by a subsidiary of Beetaloo Energy.
