Louvre Museum's Apollo gallery reopens, almost a year after the heist

other

One of France's most dramatic art heists unfolded nearly a year ago when thieves disguised as construction workers stole eighty-eight million euros worth of crown jewels from the Louvre Museum's Apollo Gallery using a truck-mounted lift. France 24 reports the gallery is now reopening to the public, though it will no longer display those stolen treasures. Instead, the space will revert to its role as a seventeenth-century state exhibition gallery.
