Increased defence spending will boost UK economic growth, Streeting says

The UK's new defence secretary is framing military spending as an engine for economic growth. Per The Guardian, Wes Streeting said at the Farnborough airshow on Wednesday that increased defence investment would make an enormous contribution to growth — and that the military will be a spending priority over other government departments. While Streeting didn't announce new funding, he promised the arms industry clarity and confidence.
