Clayface trailer leans into the body horror

Per Ars Technica, DC Studios is debuting the first full trailer for Clayface at San Diego Comic-Con, the next installment in their rebooted DC Universe. The project originated as a pitch from horror director Mike Flanagan—known for The Haunting of Hill House and Midnight Mass—who envisioned a body-horror origin story inspired by the classic Batman animated series. Though Flanagan stepped back due to scheduling conflicts, director James Watkins is carrying forward a script that retains Flanagan's original vision. The film will chronicle Matt Hagen's transformation into Clayface.
