Neal Stephenson's guide to writing books with a fountain pen
entertainment
Science fiction author Neal Stephenson, known for novels like Snow Crash and Cryptonomicon, has composed nearly all his books since the early two-thousands using a fountain pen on paper. Boing Boing reports he documents the practice on his Substack, Graphomane. The handwritten manuscript for his thousand-page Baroque Cycle reached forty-two inches tall and was displayed at the Science Fiction Museum in Seattle — a striking physical reminder that some of today's most imaginative visions of the digital future are still born from ink and paper.
