Russia plans to add social media features to Gosuslugi government services portal

Russia's government is exploring plans to transform Gosuslugi, its public services platform, into what officials call a superapp—a multipurpose platform combining social features with government services. Per Meduza, the proposal includes family chats, interest-based communities, a news feed, and a rewards system where users could earn bonuses. The deputy prime minister's office emphasized that Gosuslugi's verified user base would enable trusted interactions between citizens, businesses, and agencies. Officials say these changes are being considered as part of a long-term development strategy through twenty thirty-five, though no final decision has been made.
