Imax Second Quarter Earnings Rise as CEO Calls Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’ a ‘Transformational Event’

IMAX posted strong second-quarter results, per Variety, with revenues climbing twelve percent to one hundred two point eight million dollars. The big-screen theater company saw net income jump thirty percent to fifteen point nine million dollars, powered largely by blockbusters like The Super Mario Galaxy Movie and Michael. Adjusted earnings per share came in at forty-three cents, a sixty-five percent increase from the same period last year. The company's CEO is betting that upcoming Christopher Nolan film The Odyssey will be a major driver for the format going forward.
