world

About five hundred National Guard members have been deployed across West Virginia after torrential rain triggered flash floods in parts of the state this week, The Guardian reports. Speaking at a news conference on Wednesday, Governor Patrick Morrisey said the state remained in a phase of search and rescue, with teams working to identify anyone they might still be able to save. Emergency crews are continuing those operations as the deployment spreads across the affected areas.
