MoD cancels army training in Kenya over powers to prosecute British soldiers

world

The British Army has cancelled a September training exercise in Kenya, according to The Guardian, after the Kenyan government refused to ratify a bilateral defense agreement. Kenya wanted to change the terms to give its authorities greater power to hold British soldiers accountable for offences committed in the country. Britain wanted to renew the agreement as it stood. The failure to reach agreement forced the cancellation.
