The House of Representatives passed a war powers resolution on Thursday directing Trump to withdraw U.S. military forces from Iran. The resolution, sponsored by Democrat Pramila Jayapal, passed two hundred fourteen to two hundred eight, with four Republicans joining all Democrats in support — marking the second such resolution this summer. Per The Guardian, while the Trump administration says it's unconstitutional and the measure is largely symbolic, the resolution comes amid renewed fighting in the Middle East that has pushed oil prices to their highest levels in weeks.
