US-Saudi nuclear deal ‘is off’ if Saudi Arabia does not join Abraham accords, says White House – Middle East crisis live
world
The White House says a proposed nuclear deal with Saudi Arabia is off the table unless the kingdom joins the Abraham accords. According to The Guardian, press secretary Karoline Leavitt described the agreement as contingent on Saudi Arabia normalizing ties under that framework. The statement comes amid a widening confrontation with Iran: Houthi forces claim they struck two Saudi tankers, while Iran's Revolutionary Guard says it halted three oil tankers passing through the Strait of Hormuz. President Trump, writing on his Truth Social platform, warned that any Iranian attack on a ship in the strait would be answered by the United States bombing a bridge or power plant, including sites in or near Tehran.
