Ecuador's Richard Carapaz claimed a solo victory on Thursday's stage eighteen of the Tour de France, triumphing on the final climb to Orcieres-Merlette. France 24 reports that while Tadej Pogacar of Slovenia retained his overall lead, the race dealt him a strategic blow: key teammate Brandon McNulty abandoned the race.
