Ecuador's Richard Carapaz powered to victory on stage eighteen of the Tour de France this Thursday, claiming a decisive win on the grueling final climb to Orcieres-Merlette. Tadej Pogacar of Slovenia held firm in the overall lead, but France 24 reports he absorbed a significant blow: his key climbing teammate, Brandon McNulty, abandoned the race. Pogacar retains yellow, but the mountain has thinned his team.
