The UN is sounding alarm bells over a rapidly deteriorating Middle East crisis. Secretary General António Guterres told the Security Council the region is being pushed to the "edge of the unimaginable" as US-Iran tensions mount. According to The Guardian, Trump has posted an explicit threat on Truth Social: if Iran targets ships in the Strait of Hormuz by any means—missile, rocket, drone, or other weapon—the United States will bomb Iranian bridges and power plants, including targets potentially in Tehran. The threat follows Iran's Revolutionary Guard stopping three oil tankers from passing through the strait, as fears mount of wider escalation in one of the world's most vital shipping routes.
