D4vd lawyers challenge police testing of evidence found in singer’s home
entertainment
Attorneys for the singer D4vd spent a third day of a preliminary hearing questioning how the Los Angeles Police Department chose to test evidence recovered from his home, as a judge weighs whether he will stand trial. According to The Guardian, on Thursday the defense pressed an LAPD criminalist over those testing decisions. The singer, born David Anthony Burke, faces charges of murder and child sexual abuse. Prosecutors allege he fatally stabbed fourteen-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez last year to keep her from exposing the sexual nature of their relationship as his music career was rising. The hearing will determine whether the case proceeds to trial.
