Isla Bell death: man previously accused of killing Melbourne teen loses bid to have final charge dropped

world

A man previously accused of killing a Melbourne teenager has failed to have the last charge against him thrown out. The Guardian reports that Marat Ganiev, fifty-five, was initially charged with the murder of nineteen-year-old Isla Bell, whose remains were found in a bag at a Dandenong rubbish tip in November twenty twenty-four, about six weeks after police believe she died. Ganiev sought to permanently halt the remaining charge of perverting the course of justice, but his bid was unsuccessful, leaving that count still to be answered.
