France orders evacuation of Cap Ferret peninsula as wildfire spreads – Europe live

Thousands of people have been ordered to flee parts of south-west France as worsening wildfires bear down on the Atlantic coast. According to The Guardian, authorities have ordered the evacuation of the Cap Ferret peninsula, telling residents to leave before ten a.m. Their only routes out are hundreds of mobilised boats or the single road connecting the area to the mainland.
