Australia's last surviving veteran of the Kokoda campaign, Reginald James Chard, has died at the age of one hundred two. ABC News reports Chard, who was honored with an OAM, was the final living link to that World War Two engagement, fought against Japanese forces in Papua New Guinea. His death, reported Friday, closes a chapter on one of the defining battles of Australia's wartime history.
