Amnesty International is accusing the European Union of complicity in human rights abuses in Libya. The organization says the EU is effectively cooperating with Libyan authorities it describes as xenophobic and racist, particularly in their violent treatment of migrants. The accusation comes as Europe strengthens border controls through its new Migration and Asylum Pact. According to Amnesty International, Libyan authorities are increasingly violent toward migrants.
