Reform councillors told to call donations inquiry ‘establishment stitch-up’
politics
Reform UK has instructed its councillors to describe a police donations inquiry as an establishment stitch-up, according to internal briefing documents the Guardian obtained. The documents direct party members to respond to questions about a Metropolitan police investigation into donations from the mother of George Cottrell by framing it as political sabotage. Party members are being told 'The establishment will try anything to stop us.' The coordinated messaging strategy comes as polling shows Reform's support has been declining.
