Democrats move to keep South Carolina as first state to vote in 2028 presidential primaries

The Democratic National Committee is reshaping the 2028 primary calendar. South Carolina will be the first state to vote in the Democratic primaries, set for January twenty-second, twenty twenty-eight, according to The Guardian. Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Michigan, and Virginia will follow in that order. The DNC says the change aims to better represent the party's racially diverse voter base. The full committee must still approve it at a meeting next month.
