A practical analysis of the PlayStation architecture

tech

According to Rodrigo Copetti's technical analysis on the Adafruit Blog, Sony faced a deliberate design choice when building the PlayStation: three-D graphics hardware is notoriously complex to develop for. Their solution was boldly practical—keep the architecture simple. The tradeoff is less raw power, but it meant engineers could actually build games without losing their minds.
