Home Office rejects Palestinian Jerusalemite woman’s UK visa but approves husband’s
politics
The Guardian reports that a Palestinian Jerusalemite woman's UK visitor visa was rejected by Home Office officials, even as her husband's application was approved. Therese Abdallah, sixty-nine, a retired English teacher, was denied entry to visit her son in London after officials concluded she was not a "genuine visitor" and believed she would not leave. Her husband, Ghassan Abdallah, a psychologist, received clearance. Their son Karim, who has lived in the UK since twenty nineteen, was preparing to host them for a few weeks, but the visa rejection forced the family to cancel the trip.
