How two boats with 500 people disappeared almost without trace

Two boats carrying more than five hundred Rohingya asylum seekers disappeared off the coast of Myanmar in recent weeks, ABC News reports. The disappearances bring this year's total of people lost at sea in the region to more than eight hundred. The Rohingya, an ethnic and religious minority facing persecution in Myanmar, are among those attempting dangerous maritime crossings to seek refuge.
