One killed and 16 injured after van crashes into crowd at Berlin Pride

Berlin's annual Pride march, one of Europe's largest, was called off on Saturday night after a vehicle drove into a crowd near the parade route in Tiergarten park. The Guardian reports that at least one person was killed and sixteen others were wounded. German chancellor Friedrich Merz vowed to punish those responsible, The Guardian says, in a country that has remained on edge after a series of deadly vehicle and knife attacks in recent years.
