Organ Pedals for Drumming
other
LessWrong reports on an unconventional percussion innovation: musician Rochus Keller has repurposed MIDI organ pedals as a drumming interface. The approach gives his feet access to seventeen different virtual drum sounds instead of the single kick drum a traditional pedal provides. The keyboard-like feel requires different technique than conventional pedals, but enables complex, full percussion playing with just two feet.
