PBS SoCal, KMEX Lead L.A. Local Emmy Wins; KVEA, KABC Land Top Newscast Prizes

Variety reports that PBS SoCal captured eight Emmy Awards at Saturday's L.A. Area Emmy Awards, including wins for live events programming, entertainment, crime and social issues reporting, and arts. Univision's KMEX claimed seven Emmys, with Telemundo's KVEA taking six, including the prize for daytime newscasts—a category where KVEA is a repeat winner.
