UNESCO adds France's D-Day landing beaches, Greece's Mount Olympus to World Heritage List

UNESCO has designated France's D-Day landing beaches and Greece's Mount Olympus as World Heritage sites, per RFI English. The decision was made during a UN committee meeting in South Korea that was reviewing dozens of nominations. The Normandy beaches, site of the pivotal nineteen forty-four Allied invasion, now join thousands of globally recognized heritage locations.
