ScienceDaily reports that popular AI-powered calorie counters are less accurate than they appear. In testing, four leading apps underestimated both calories and fat by roughly one-third — a surprisingly large gap. High-fat ketogenic meals were the worst culprits, while carbohydrate calculations proved more reliable. If you're tracking your diet with one of these apps, the actual totals could be significantly higher than what your phone is telling you.
