Berlin Pride van and knife rampage an ‘Islamist terror attack’, authorities say

German authorities are calling a van and knife rampage near Berlin's Pride festival an Islamist terrorist attack, according to The Guardian. A man drove a minivan into a crowd of pedestrians in Tiergarten park, near the Brandenburg Gate, then attacked people with what appeared to be a machete, killing one person and injuring twenty-nine others. The assault took place around ten p.m. local time on Saturday, near one of Europe's largest LGBTQ+ celebrations. Police are still hunting for the main suspect, identified as twenty-one-year-old Abdul Ballout.
