Show HN: Distill and serve small models with frontier quality for half the cost
dev_tools
Hacker News reports on world-model-optimizer, an open-source tool that lets developers run AI models more affordably without sacrificing quality. The tool captures traces from your existing agent workflows and uses them to train smaller, specialized models through a process called distillation. A router then decides whether incoming tasks should run on the smaller, cheaper model or a more capable frontier model. The creators also offer a hosted version claiming equivalent quality at forty percent lower cost.
