Victorian premier Jacinta Allan has refused calls to step down after Labor factions met to question her leadership. According to The Guardian, the party's left and right wings held a meeting Sunday night to assess whether Allan retained majority support in the parliamentary caucus—and concluded she didn't. Facing pressure to resign before parliament resumes, Allan has vowed to contest any leadership ballot. It's an awkward fight for Labor to have just four months before a state election.
