A powerful storm tore through Russia's Rostov region on Saturday, killing one person and injuring about twenty-eight others, according to Rostov-on-Don Mayor Alexander Skryabin. Meduza reports the storm knocked out power in fifteen cities and districts and disrupted water service in Rostov and other towns, though water was restored by Sunday morning. More than a thousand trees were toppled in Rostov alone, and regional Governor Yuri Slyusar has urged residents to stay home while recovery efforts continue.
