‘I knew what he had done to those boys’: murderer to stay in jail after journalist’s fight for justice
world
A journalist's persistence has helped keep a convicted killer behind bars. The Guardian reports that Ros Astengo, a Gibraltar-based journalist who usually covers politics and social issues, began looking into the case of Allan Grimson as he neared release after serving more than twenty years in prison. Grimson, a former Royal Navy petty officer, was convicted of sexually assaulting and killing two young men in the late nineteen-nineties. Astengo says her reporting encouraged four more men to come forward with allegations against him, and as a result, he will remain in jail.
