A song charted on Billboard in 1979 without ever being released

In nineteen seventy-nine, a single called 'Ready 'n' Steady' by D.A. charted on Billboard's Bubbling Under the Hot 100, reaching number one hundred and two over three weeks. Then it disappeared. Chart historian Joel Whitburn, whose company had collected every charting forty-five, spent decades hunting for this ghost record but never found it — the one record that got away.
