A single missing underscore cost a Nova Scotia man eighteen months in prison. Investigators tracking a 2018 child-luring case out of Madison, Wisconsin were hunting a Kik user named with two underscores after "fus," but the records request went out with only one, Ars Technica reports. That one-character slip pointed police to an innocent Halifax man named Brandon Klayme instead of the actual suspect.
