Siberian region of Russia bars refueling the same car more than once every 24 hours amid Russia’s gasoline shortage

business

The Republic of Altai, a Siberian region of Russia, has tightened fuel restrictions: drivers can now refuel the same car only once every 24 hours, according to Meduza. The new rule closes a loophole in the previous system, which reset daily at midnight and let some drivers fill up twice by timing their visits before and after the deadline. Agricultural producers and emergency services are exempt. The restriction responds to Russia's gasoline shortage, which has forced several regions to limit refueling since early July; some regions have already lifted their restrictions.
