US influencer ‘couldn’t seem to get away’ from husband accused of killing her, ex-partner says

Police say social media influencer Sara Gilson was killed by her husband, Jeremiah Duffy, after she publicly accused him on TikTok of child sexual abuse. The Guardian reports that Gilson's ex-husband, Lyle Landers, told People magazine she had filed multiple protective orders but seemed unable to leave the relationship, saying he'd begged her for five years to get away from Duffy. Landers described a pattern where domestic abuse had come to seem normalized within the relationship.
