Jacinta Allan has resigned as Victorian premier, The Guardian reports, ahead of a leadership challenge from Ben Carroll. As she steps down, Allan urged women not to be discouraged from entering politics. Meanwhile, Michele O'Neil, president of the Australian Council of Trade Unions, announced she's also stepping aside, along with secretary Sally McManus.
